YA 2026 Corporate Income Tax Rebate

For the Year of Assessment 2026, taxpaying companies will receive a Corporate Income Tax Rebate equal to 50% of the corporate tax payable.

The combined benefit from the rebate and the Corporate Income Tax Rebate Cash Grant is capped at S$40,000 per company. The rebate is available to taxpaying companies whether or not they are Singapore tax residents.

Companies should not deduct the rebate when declaring chargeable income in their Estimated Chargeable Income or corporate income tax return. IRAS will calculate and apply the rebate automatically when processing the company's tax assessment.

A company with no corporate tax payable will not receive a tax rebate. It may, however, still qualify for the S$2,000 cash grant.

S$2,000 Corporate Income Tax Rebate Cash Grant

An eligible company may receive a S$2,000 cash grant if it:

  • Was actively carrying on a trade, business or investment-holding activity at the time of disbursement.
  • Made CPF contributions for at least one local employee during 2025.

The employee must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident. A shareholder who is also a director does not count towards this local-employee condition.

The cash grant is not taxable. Eligible companies were assessed automatically, so a separate application was generally unnecessary.

How the Rebate and Cash Grant Work Together

The S$2,000 cash grant forms part of the overall S$40,000 benefit rather than being added on top of it.

For example, if an eligible company's calculated rebate is S$10,000 and it received the S$2,000 cash grant, the remaining rebate available would generally be S$8,000.

If the calculated rebate is less than S$2,000 and the company qualifies for the cash grant, no additional rebate will be given because the company has already received the higher S$2,000 minimum benefit.

The actual treatment depends on the company's eligibility and tax assessment.

What If an Eligible Company Did Not Receive the Cash Grant?

An active company that satisfied the local-employee condition but did not receive the grant should review its CPF and employment records.

Companies relying on a qualifying centralised hiring or secondment arrangement may submit an appeal to IRAS through myTax Mail by 30 November 2026, together with supporting documents such as employment arrangements and staff-cost recharge records.

Corporate Tax Filing Deadline

The YA 2026 Form C-S, Form C-S (Lite) or Form C must generally be filed by 30 November 2026.

Before filing, companies should prepare:

  • Audited or unaudited financial statements, as applicable.
  • Tax computation and supporting schedules.
  • Details of non-deductible expenses and capital allowances.
  • Supporting documents for tax incentives, exemptions or claims.
  • Records of losses, donations and other amounts carried forward.

The company should calculate its taxable income correctly without manually deducting the YA 2026 rebate.

A Simple Worked Example

Assume a company has S$12,000 of tax payable before the rebate and qualifies for the S$2,000 cash grant. The 50% benefit is S$6,000. After deducting the S$2,000 cash grant already received, the remaining corporate income tax rebate is S$4,000. The resulting tax payable is S$8,000. The company’s total benefit is S$6,000: S$2,000 in cash and S$4,000 through the tax rebate. This simplified example assumes there are no other tax set-offs or adjustments.

Practical Filing Checklist

  • Confirm that the company was active at the time of disbursement and made CPF contributions for at least one qualifying local employee during 2025 if it expects the cash grant.
  • Review deductible expenses, capital allowances and brought-forward items before filing.
  • Keep the Notice of Assessment and cash-grant records together so the final rebate can be reconciled.
  • File the appropriate Form C-S, Form C-S (Lite) or Form C by the applicable deadline.
